Introducing myself:
My name is Henrique Lucena Pires, an undergraduate student and soccer player for the University of Jamestown. I'm from Porto Alegre, a 2 million habitants city in the south of Brazil and I have been here in the U.S since August of 2014. Yes, coming from a tropical country all the way up to North Dakota is not easy, but surprisingly I adapted really well here. I've always been a really active person and physical activity has always been essential in my life. In special, soccer has always been played a crucial role in my life, since when I started with it when I was 5 to 6 years old until today. My dad was a really good soccer player, so naturally I was initiated in the sport really soon and I always had the full support of all my family to fight for my dream of becoming a professional soccer player. Choosing my major in Exercise Science comes a lot from my passion for the human body and its movement; for me there is nothing more interesting than studying your own body and how does it works under all the circumstances that life can put you under. I’ve always planned to mix science with soccer to help the general population with health and fitness problems. Do you think it is possible? This website has the answer!
